Nelda White

Nelda White, 77, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on October 22, 2015, at Baptist Hospital in Orange, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Jeremy Fletcher, of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor.

Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00pm.

Born in Groves, Texas, on January 3, 1938, she was the daughter of Jack Dempsey Matthews and Ella (Webb) Matthews. Nelda was a loving mother and wife who dearly loved her grandchildren. She was a homemaker, a realtor, and an excellent cook who made incredible cookies. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Glen Matthews; and her sister, Delores Pickett.

Nelda is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Paul J. White; her children, Rodney White and wife Libby, of Beaumont, James White and wife Trudy, of Bridge City, and Bryan White and wife Elois, of Cedar Park; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, David Matthews and wife Dorothy, Mr. and Mrs. Dilbert Matthews, Dorothy “Tinsey” Robertson, and Gloria Denmon.
