A Life Remembered
Obituary
Born in Orange, Texas on May 5, 1969, she was the daughter of Scott Chandler and Becky (Watson) Chandler. Nikki was a kind soul with a heart-warming smile. Her life overflowed in generosity, integrity, and loyalty. She was a faithful friend and always had just the right words of encouragement and advice. Nikki had the perfect balance of beauty queen and tomboy. As a child Nikki’s favorite times were spent in the country with her cousins. From climbing trees to swimming in the lake, there were many good laughs and special moments. That same sweet girl who would get rough and rowdy, would impress the judges at pageants with her beauty and charm, winning numerous awards including Miss Photogenic. Nikki was a member of the drill team during her junior high school years where she also served as captain. Steve and Nikki were a match made in Heaven. They flowed together so well and enjoyed spending time in their backyard dancing to their favorite music or watching sports on television. Steven, Zachary, and Rebecca were Nikki’s pride and joy and she loved being their mother. Nikki would never turn down an opportunity to listen to Zachary play the guitar, have late night talks with Rebecca or travel to visit Steven, Julia, and Cayden all over the United States. As Nikki would say to her family “It’s disgusting how much I love you.”
She was proceeded in death by her grandmother, Virgie Marie Berwick; grandfather, Sam Watson; and uncles, Donald Watson, and David Watson.
Nikki is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Steve Martin; father, Scott Chandler and wife Patty of Jasper; mother, Becky Belcher and husband Boyd of Bridge City; children, Zachary Arguello of Houston, Rebecca Arguello of Houston and Steven Martin and wife Julia of Pensacola, Florida; grandchildren, Cayden, Reagan and Riley Martin; brothers, R.J. Gardner of Bridge City, Clint Chandler of Nederland, Dakota Shane Chandler of Austin; sisters, Naomi Chandler Koehl of Conroe and Jessica Welborn of Vidor; niece, Becca Gardner of Houston; and numerous other family members and friends.
