Nina Lou Smith Oldbury of Mauriceville passed away April 6, 2021 with her beloved husband of nearly fifty years by her side.
Born on December 29, 1952, she was the daughter of Johnnie Ray Smith and Tiajuana Irene Smith. Nina was a large and loved part of her hometown of Mauriceville’s community. She spent many years in the Volunteer Fire Department and worked for the Mauriceville Crawfish Festival for sixteen years. Nina will be missed by all and had provided many memories to cherish as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Nina is survived by her parents Johnnie Ray and Tiajuana Irene Smith; her husband, Donald Ray Oldbury; daughter, Lisa Oldbury Worthy and husband Clifton; son, Jonathan Donald Oldbury and wife Jaime Lyn; and her four-legged fur baby Sam.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, George Francis Gentzsch IV, Hannah Nicole Journeay and husband Justin James, Cade Edward-Ray Worthy, Leila Caleigh Worthy and Nathan Bryan Oldbury; and one great granddaughter, Ryleigh Mae Journeay; along with fifteen grand-dogs.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William Bryan and Lila Walters-Smith; and sister, Nancy Lee Smith.
