Norma Lee Pearson Gilbert Cardiff, 78, formerly of Orange passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at her home in Bridge City.
Funeral service will be held at11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Nathan Cothen.
Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
Norma was born on November 23, 1929 in Chelsea, Massachusetts to W.O. "Tex" and Sadie Eplin Pearson. Norma spent most of her life in Orange and retired from Firestone in 1990.
Norma's greatest joy was her family. Her love was sincere and abundant, and she brought happiness and warmth to all around her. Some of her passions included dancing, Christian and gospel music, traveling, and keeping in shape.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 36 years, Edwin E. Gilbert; husband, Val Tinney; grandson, Clinton Joel; and son-in-law, Scott Stout.
She is survived by her former husband and soulmate, Jerry Cardiff of Orange; son, Mark Gilbert and wife, Dyan of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; daughter, Holly Giffin and husband, Mike of Beaumont; son, Matthew Gilbert of Orange; daughter, Winnie Stout of Austin; grandchildren, Amy Moore and Kurt Stout, both of Dallas; Sean Giffin of Beaumont; brother, Philip Pearson of Bremerton, Washington; sisters, Dixie Reynolds, Linda Hyder, and Connie Adams, all of Bridge City.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kurt Stout, Sean Giffin, Chris Hyder, Greg Hyder, Richie Hyder, and Kasey Stephenson.
Honorary pallbearer will be Shep Shepherd.
Should friends desire, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 2141 Rosecrans Ave, Suite 7000, El Segundo, CA 90245.
