Norris Lee Trahan
Norris Trahan, 91, passed away on February 15, 2023 at 6:42 p.m. Born in Morse, Louisiana, Norris was a resident of Beaumont for 62 years.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m, on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur, Louisiana. Officiating will be Reverend Vaughn of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. A public visitation will be held at the church, prior to the mass, beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow the mass at St. Anthony Cemetery in Lake Arthur, Louisiana.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., on Friday, February 17, 2023,with Family Reflections taking place at 6:00 p.m., at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas.
Norris retired from The Beaumont Rice Mill in 1994 after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also a member of St. Jude Thaddeus church.
Norris enjoyed being home to cook the foods he liked most from his cajun culture like gumbo and jambalaya. He especially enjoyed baking which satisfied his own taste for sweets. Family was a huge part of his life and he loved the many visits he received every week from his children and grandchildren including also including his time with his brother. In his younger days Norris could be spotted on a dance floor dancing a mean jitterbug or his very best which was a smooth waltz.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Vergine (Hebert) Trahan; his three daughters, Arlene Vincent and husband Jeffrey, Angela Trahan Spark, and Karen Haynes and husband Mark, all of Beaumont, Texas. He has one brother, Emery Trahan of Beaumont, Texas. Grandchildren, Wade Vincent and wife Jennifer of Fannett, Texas, Brandon Vincent and wife Vicky, Tyler Haynes, Mallory (Haynes) Rugg and husband John, all of Beaumont, Texas, Christopher Spark of Lumberton, Texas and Christy Spark of Spring, Texas. Great Grandchildren, Nathan Vincent, Jason Vincent and Natalie Vincent, all of Fannett,Texas, and Jessie Martin of Beaumont, Texas and Brittney Trahan of California
He was preceded in death by his parents, Desire Trahan & Nola (Benoit) Trahan; Sister, Loraine LeBouff; Nieces, Kathleen Green, Carol Caraway and Dana Trahan, and Nephew, Harry LeBouff.
He will be greatly missed by his family.
