Obray ?Blanc? Fontenot, 87, of Orange, died Monday, April 2, 2007, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Joseph P. Daleo. Burial will follow at St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday with a Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Deacon Hazen Kenney will be officiating.
Mr. Fontenot was born June 11, 1919, in Kaplan, LA to Oleaus and Anna Doucet Fontenot.
Mr. Fontenot resided in Orange most of his life. He and his family moved to Orange in the 1940?s. He retired from American Bridge U.S. Steel where he worked as a Chipper. He was a member of Boilermakers Local 587. Mr. Fontenot was an avid gardner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elda Marie Roach Fontenot and his grandson, Russell Gregg.
He is survived by his daughters, Effie ?Lulu? Gregg of Orange, Bertha Barron and husband Jack of Vidor, Eva Smith and husband Ross of Bridge City, sisters Lucille Marceaux of Orange and Louise Hardin and husband Marshall of West Orange. Surviving him also are nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
