Olive Longnion

Olive Longnion, 87 died on March 25, 2009 in Kingston, OK where she had been living with her daughter and her family for a short time. She was born in Church Point, Louisiana on March 9, 1922 to William and Mary Spears of Vidor.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m, Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2009 at the funeral home from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Olive was a longtime resident of Beaumont and a member of Amelia Baptist Church. She was very active with different fellowships and a member of Alpha Beta Sorority before her health started failing her.

She and her husband, Lee loved to travel and were members of the Good Sam Travel Club.

She also had been cafeteria manager for Giles Elementary School in Beaumont for thirteen years. She had worked in various positions for Beaumont Independent School District before becoming cafeteria manager.

Olive was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Lee Longnion of Beaumont; her brother, Carl Spears of Vidor; her sister Juanita Sonnier of Orange and her parents.

Surviving her are her children and their spouses, Minor and Neta Longnion of Silsbee, Elwin D. and Brenda Longnion of Village Mills and Leatrice and Jerry Nickle of Kingston, OK; sister-in-law, Grace Spears of Vidor; fifteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
