Orelia Marie Saltzman, 85, of Orange, passed away on February 9, 2021, at home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Jennings Louisiana on October 16, 1935 she was the daughter of Clarence and Bella Guidry. The Guidry family moved to Orange, Texas during the war years and this is where Orelia met the love of her life, James Saltzman. They married on February 20, 1954 and had many happy years together until his passing. Orelia adored all her friends and family very much. She was also known as “MawMaw” to all the children in the cove neighborhood. Orelia will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Saltzman; daughter, Diana Virva; parents, Clarence and Bella Guidry; 5 brothers; and 1 sister.
Those left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Janet Brown and husband Jim; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; as well as her sister-in-law, Ella Stuebing and husband Terry.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the ladies with the Best Hospice Care for all that they did for Orelia in her final days. Also, a special thanks to Anna, Kelly, Emelie, Steven, and Tashia.
