Otis Oscar Fisher, Jr., 87, of Kirbyville, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014, at Kirbyville.
Funeral services will be 11am, Monday, January 20, 2014, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Trout Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
Born in Arkansas, on September 29, 1926, Otis was the son of Otis Oscar Fisher, Sr. and Lucille (Stahl) Fisher. After he graduated from Pasadena High School in 1944, Otis enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served during WWII in Okinawa. He then attended Lamar College and graduated in 1948. Otis then began his career in maintenance and preplanning for DuPont. He retired from DuPont after 35 years in 1987. Otis was a loyal member of the El Mina Shriners.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Fisher; parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Victor Gambill.
Otis is survived by his daughter, Dayle Gunn Weatherford and husband, L.E. “Stump” of Orange; grandchildren, Chris Gunn and wife Cindy, Lacey Hale, Bridget Toohey and husband Jet, all of Orange; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephew, Vic Gambill and wife Margaret of Liberty, Suzanne Bloodworth and husband Leonard of Leakey, Dianne Martini and husband Alan of Aransas Pass.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Gunn, Jet Toohey, L.E. “Stump” Weatherford, Vic Gambill, Vinny Hale, Tony Gunn, and Ricky Deville.
