Pansy Travis, 89, of Orange, Texas, passed away on September 11, 2020, in Silsbee, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Guy Snyder and Reverend Nathan Keating. Eulogies will be given by Mr. Ken Hollingsworth, Reverend Don Snider, Mr. Jeff Jones, and Mr. Jason Smith. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Spikes Cemetery in Bancroft, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 14, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Bancroft, Louisiana, on January 18, 1931, she was the daughter of Zack W. Snider and Matilda (Whitman) Snider. Pansy worked as a nurse for many years. She and her husband, C.B., were also the owners and operators of Nanny and Papa’s Daycare in Logansport, Louisiana. She was a member of First Apostolic Church in Merryville, Louisiana and First Church of Orange. Pansy was a woman with many interests and enjoyed working on flower arrangements, traveling, hunting, and fishing. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also known as Aunt Pansy to her nieces and nephews and Nanny to many others. Pansy will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cannon B. Travis; her parents, Zack and Matilda Snider; and her siblings, Zelda Rainwater, Daisy Prince, Martha “Beth” Baiad, Burnis Snider, John Snyder, Burtis Snider, R.Bee Snider, Herbert Snider.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheridan Hollingsworth and husband Ken of Lumberton and Aleta Butts and husband Jimmy of Vidor; her grandchildren, LaDonna Clark and husband Rick, Jeff Jones and wife Andrea, Jason Smith and wife Myra, and Aaron Hollingsworth; her great-grandchildren, Travis Clark, Cody Clark and wife Cassie, Alex Jones, Jack Jones, AnnaGrace Smith, Cade Smith, and Aubrey Smith; and her great-great-grandchild, Cullen Clark.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Clark, Travis Clark, Aaron Hollingsworth, Alex Jones, Ryan Baiad, and Joey Shanklin. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Rainwater, Seth Snyder, Nathan Navarro, David Gilland, Cade Smith, Jack Jones, Cullen Clark, Bryant LaBiche, Rick Clark, and Daniel Snyder.
