Pastor L.R. Charlot, of Orange, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2021.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at New Beginnings Church at 1512 15th St. in Orange.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021, at New Beginnings Church at 1512 15th St. in Orange. Pastor Eddie Lee Smith will be officiating services. The Eulogy will be delivered by her grandson, Minister Immanuel Brooks. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.

Born in Sunset, Louisiana, she was the beloved daughter of Andrus Richard and Mary (Blackwell) Richard. Pastor Charlot. lived a life dedicated to her Lord and Savior and was a perfect example of living in God’s reflection as a wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was called to deliver the word of God, and deliver she did. She was dedicated to her faith and lived her life in service to her Lord and in service to those in need. Pastor Charlot. served as Pastor of Starlight Missionary Baptist Church for over 30 years. She was a member of Orange Christian services, Vice President of Mount Zion Fellowship of Churches, and World Vision Ministries. She was a beloved child of God and was the best mother her children could’ve asked for. Pastor Charlot was compassionate, caring, always putting others ahead of herself. She was a blessing to all those who knew her with her positive and uplifting spirit. In addition to her service to God, she served her fellow brothers and sisters worldwide, often spending her spare time feeding the hungry and preaching God’s Word at local nursing homes. Pastor Charlot. was a blessing on Earth and her family takes great comfort in knowing she is resting in peace with her heavenly Father and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrus and Mary Richard; husband, Floyd L. Charlot. Sr.; son, Floyd L. Charlot, Jr.; ten siblings, Beatrice, Marie, Andrus, Jr., Alfred, Jimmie, Joseph, Percy, Viola, Bobby and Herbert.

She is survived by her loving children, Linda Henderson of Houston, Vernon Charlot and wife Edie of Katy, and Katherine Brooks of Orange; grandchildren, Tiara Henderson and fiancé Jerry Snider, Vernon Charlot, Jr. and wife Sydney, Jonathan Charlot, Hazel “Halie” Brooks, Immanuel “Man” Brooks, and Jewel Brooks; great-grandchildren, Vernon Charlot III., and Mavis Charlot; brother, Pastor Curly Richard; sister-in-law, Bessie Richard; cousin, Evalina Sims; and dedicated church member, Deaconess W. Davis.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to extended family and their support that was essential to Pastor Charlot’s care near the end : Angela McZeal, who prayed with mom and stayed with her on several occasions and often called to check on her. Mary Ann Land, who prayed with mom, kept her encouraged and checked of her daily. Shirley Collins, who often cooked mom’s favorite meal, Okra Stew and brought it to her. and Floyd Richard, who helped out regularly with household maintenance tasks, which enabled mom to live comfortably in her home.
