Patricia Ann Lee
Patricia Ann Lee, 62, of Orange passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 in Beaumont.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, February 13, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Rev. Msgr. William Manger, pastor of St. Anne Catholic Church in Beaumont. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm-9:00pm, Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home with a rosary at 7:00pm, officiated by Deacon Melvin Payne.

Born in Orange, she was the daughter of H.B. “Curly” and Betty (Bernard) Lindsey. She went to Texas Women’s University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree and later earned her Masters at Lamar in Beaumont. She was employed with the West Orange-Cove CISD for over 35 years having taught at Lorena Oates Elementary, Anderson Elementary, and West Orange-Stark High schools. Most recently, she worked at West Orange-Stark Elementary School where she was a teacher and assistant principal. During her career, she was the coach for volleyball, softball, track and basketball; was very active in the booster club, Robotics, PTA and the summer school program. She had also been a physical education teacher at the high school level.

She was involved in TAPHERD, AAPHERD, All-Well, TSHA, and the Cancer Society. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir and served as Eucharistic minister. She loved crocheting, sock monkeys, baking and cooking, which she got from her Mama. She enjoyed plants and gardening; she definitely had a green thumb. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law; uncle, Eddie Blankenstein; and her aunt, Anne McCormick.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Thomas Lee; her son, Lindsey Lee and wife Brittany, of Orange; daughter, Erin Godina and husband Manuel, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Molly Darlene, Madelyn Jane, and soon to be Mya Ann Lee; and her sisters, Carolyn Barfield and husband Roy, of Hemphill, Anita Lake and husband Ron, of Orange, and Elizabeth Blackstock and husband John, of Lumberton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to West Orange-Stark Elementary at 2605 MLK Jr. Dr. Orange, TX 77630 or to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Baptist Hospital in Beaumont as well as their wonderful staff, Dr. Patri; nurses, Hai, Josephine, Jennifer, and April; and nurse practitioner, Phillip Parcon.

Hi. I am Patricia's principal. I truly hate that I never got the chance to work with her, but like I told the staff today, I feel like I knew her loves. I know she loved WOSE. I know she wanted to be with us. I know that she devoted her life to children. I know she was a loving wife and mother. And a proud, doting grandmother. Just knowing these things is enough for me to know her character. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless. Much love, Glenetta Henley

I send prayers to your family for your loss. I remember way back when our parents were close friends and did so much together. Times we got to spend with them, so now you get to be with all of them. May you R.I.P and soar with the angels above.I’m FreeDon’t grieve for me for now I’m free,I’m following the path God laid for me.I took his hand when I heard him call,I turned my back and left it all.I could not stay another dayTo laugh, to love, to work or play.Tasks left undone will stay that way,I found that peace at close of day.If my parting has left a voidThen fill it with remembered joyA friendship shared, a laugh a kiss,Ah yes, these things I, too, will miss. But not burdened with times of sorrow,I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life has been full, I’ve savored much.Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.Perhaps my time seemed all to briefDon’t lengthen it now with undue grief,Lift up you hearts and share with me,God wanted me now,He set me free.

I have such great memories of summer vacations spent in Texas, often at Uncle Curley and Aunt Betty's house. Patricia would put on a record, usually the 5th Dimension-Wedding Bell Blues, and she would pick me up and teach me how to slow dance cheek to cheek, singing and twirling me around. I loved her voice and the fact that she didn't seem to mind playing with the "little kids". I love you, Tina

Sister, you are finally at Peace. Such a very hard road you had to travel to get there. I am ashamed that some of us put boulders in your way, and hope I chipped some of my part away Thursday night. I envy the wonderful feeling you must have felt to be welcomed in Heaven by Moma and Daddy! You were my rock so many times and helped me get through a lot. I probably didn't even thank you back then, but I hope you knew in your heart that it helped. I will most definitely miss poking fun at your wacky toes and loving the finger nail designs that changed with every holiday! Now you will get to soar and sing with the Angels, pain and stress free! I know that you probably already have, but please hug and kiss Moma and Daddy for me. I Will Miss you Patricia........Love Always ..... Anita
