Patricia “Tricia” Adell Pierce
Patricia “Tricia” Adell Pierce, 71, of Orange, TX went to be with the lord on November 8th, 2024. She was born February 21, 1953, in Clovis, New Mexico to Valerie M. Pierce and Merton E. Pierce.
She lived her first eleven years in Clovis, Littlefield, TX, Santa Fe, NM and Pueblo, CO. She and her sister moved back to Clovis in 1965 to live with their paternal grandparents, Mert and Neva Pierce after the death of their father.
Tricia graduated from Clovis High School in 1971. She joined the United States Air Force in 1974 and served as a dental assistant in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Okinawa, Japan and San Antonio. After serving, she moved to the Orange, Texas area where she lived the remainder of her life.
In 1983, the greatest love of her life, her son, Dexter Allen Broussard (father, David Broussard) was born. She loved and cherished him, and he has stayed by her side, and they have supported each other his entire life.
She earned her baccalaureate degree in education from Lamar University in 1981. She began her teaching career in 1987 then earned a Masters degree in Counseling and Development in 1995. She spent 26 years at the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Consolidated Independent School District working with special needs children, the last five as a diagnostician. She retired in 2014 and continued to work in area schools. She was working for the Bob Hope Charter School prior to her passing. She was an amazing teacher who enabled extraordinary outcomes even with the most challenging students. She loved her job and even though she was demanding, she was loved by her students and their families as well, because of the dramatic improvements she facilitated in their lives.
She was very involved in the Golden Triangle Emmaus community and was proud to have served on the Board and as a Community Lay Director.
She and Dexter participated, both onstage and off, with local community theatre groups for the last few years. They have made beautiful memories and great friends through their participation with this extraordinary community.
