Patsy Ruth Sims
Patsy Ruth Sims, 94, of Lumberton, Texas, passed away on January 28, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Woodcrest Methodist Church in Lumberton, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Charles Jordan of Woodcrest Methodist Church in Lumberton, Texas.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Woodcrest Methodist Church in Lumberton, Texas.
Born in Houston, Texas, July 31, 1929, she was the daughter of Mack Cardwell and Pearl Cardwell. Patsy found solace in various hobbies and interests that brought her immense happiness. She had a profound love for fishing, the great outdoors and various other hobbies that included sewing, crocheting, knitting, and reading. She also had a vast collection of ceramics, lighthouses and owls. Beyond her personal endeavors, Patsy was a member of Woodcrest Methodist Church in Lumberton. Her faith was unwavering, providing a guiding light throughout her journey. As a cherished member of the church community, she touched the hearts of many. Patsy was also a Past Matron of Silsbee Chapter #298 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Patsy was truly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mack Cardwell and Pearl Cardwell; her sons, Marvin Ray Westbrook and Hesser Gene Westbrook; and her five siblings.
She is survived by her husband, Linden Sims; her son, Louis Westbrook and wife Jane Ann; her daughters in law, Debbie Westbrook and Debra Westbrook; her grandchildren, Kristen, Ryan, Mary, Christine, Shelly, Kelly, Dustin, Colt, and Whitney; and numerous great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Westbrook, Colt Westbrook, and Louis Westbrook.
