Paul Calhoon, 57, of Orange, Texas, passed away on April 22, 2019, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Granger Cemetery in Orangefield.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on May 9, 1961, he was the son of Calvin Charles Calhoon and Frances (Mitchell) Furnace. Paul worked as a tow boat captain for Martin Gas for over 10 years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Paul loved spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies. He also loved his dog, Pearl. Paul will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Calhoon and Frances Furnace.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 33 years, Rhonda “Sissy” Calhoon; his children, Sheritta Dubay and husband Chris, of Austin, Jeffrey Calhoon and wife Shelby, of Orangefield, Calvin Calhoon, of Vidor, and Nora Calhoon, of Orangefield; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Paul Calhoon, Jr., Gunter Paul Calhoon, and Matti Calhoon; honorary brother, Ronnie Fryer and wife Renae, of Jacksonville; his step-sister, Shelli Johnson and husband, Curtis of Kentucky; his step-brothers, Tré Gordy, of Kentucky and Glen Gordy, of Wichita; his sister, Melinda Steepleton and husband Charles, of Vidor; his nieces and nephews, Brandi Charlton and husband Jeff, of Vidor, Jason Paul Steepleton, of Vidor, and Charles Dillon Steepleton, of Vidor; along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lance Eads, Jason Steepleton, Charles Dillon Steepleton, Aaron Gray, J. T. Michael, and Cody Turnbull. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Fryer, Jeffrey Calhoon, and Calvin Calhoon.
