Paula Kay Leger Wilson
Paula Kay Wilson, born on October 21, 1957, in Orange, Texas, and danced her way into Heaven on October 28, 2024, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories and an unforgettable mark on all who knew her.
She was not just a beloved sister, aunt, and friend; she was a radiant soul, known widely as the best bartender in town! Many patrons and friends alike celebrated her for serving up her many creative blends!
With a distinctive voice that could pierce through the clamor of life, Paula had an unmatched ability to fill spaces with warmth and light. It is well known that many knew Paula just by the sound of her voice! Paula’s laughter was a melody, a contagious vibration that could lift the spirits of those around her!
The love she held for her family was boundless, a flame that burned brightly in her heart. She had a special bond with her nephew Bubba, whom she cherished and embraced as if he were her very own son, pouring all her affection into loving and caring for him.
Paula was a lover of life, finding joy in the simplest of pleasures. She loved dancing, allowing her spirit to soar as she moved to the rhythm of the music. The beach was a special place for her, and she found solace in the sun's embrace, and the sand slipping through her toes—a reminder of her carefree spirit. Her love for motorcycles, especially her admiration for Harley Davidsons, reflected her adventurous nature, a testament to her zest for exploring life’s twists and turns. Passionate about sports, she was an unwavering supporter of the Houston Texans, her enthusiasm capturing the hearts of those she watched games with. Paula embodied the very essence of joy and laughter, her spirit refusing to be dimmed even in the face of adversity.
She is preceded in death by her son, Wilbert, her parents, “Bo” Lorea Leger and Mary Anne (Thomas) Leger and her brother “Bubba” Charles Robert Leger, her half-sister Ruby Leger and half-brother Jr Leger.
Paula leaves behind a loving family, including her brother, "DeDe" David Allen Leger, her nephew, “Bubba” Charles Robert Leger, her nephew, Kendon Leger, her best “Cuz” Billie Langley, her niece Shelina King, her long-time boyfriend Billy Bowsher, and many other cherished family members and friends, all of whom will carry her vibrant spirit within them. Paula’s departure leaves an aching void, but her legacy of love, laughter, and unyielding passion for life will forever resonate with those she touched.
In her passing, Paula Kay reminds us to embrace life with fervor, to love deeply, and to carry laughter in our hearts, for it is this spirit that she so joyfully embodied. As we gather our memories, we celebrate the incredible woman who filled our lives with sunshine and joy, and eternally dancing in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Paula at a later date.
