Peggy Darlene Butler, 83, of Vidor, passed away on December 9, 2017, in Beaumont.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Fuller.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2017 at Claybar Kelley- Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Born in Moody, Texas, eighth of nine children, on January 1, 1934, she was the daughter of Jasper Newton Woody. Peggy was a member of Calder Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she served as Church Secretary. She retired from Gulf States where she worked in Administration and was a volunteer at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Peggy loved her grandchildren dearly, never missing one of their events. She was also a gifted seamstress, making many of their costumes. She will be greatly missed by all those who came to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Butler and son, Tommy Neal Butler.
She is survived by her son, Myron Butler and wife Rhonda of Vidor; daughter, Dana Butler King and husband Marlin of Vidor; grandchildren, Mandy Eynon and husband Sean, Matthew McBroom and wife Heather, Mahlon Butler and fiancé Heather, Rhonda Butler Harkey and husband Ryan, Leslie Todd and husband Michael, Justin Butler and wife Stacey, Franklin Butler, Tommy Butler, Jason Butler and Meagan Mott and husband Joseph; great-grandchildren, Leighton, Reed, Lane, Rhett, Ann Margaret, Reed, Rush, and Cora Mae and extended family, Ronny Butler.
