Peggy Ann Miller, 69, of Orange, Texas, passed away on September 18, 2017, in Vidor, Texas after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday September 22, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with Deacon Melvin Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
A Rosary will precede the service beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 21, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Erath, Louisiana, on February 27, 1948, Peggy was the daughter of Lawless Joseph Hebert and Dorothy (Delahoussaye) Self. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She loved taking care of people and was known as “Aunt Peggy” to many. She enjoyed playing skip bo with her family, making gumbo, and being the “mother hen” of the family. Peggy was a very loving and giving wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by many. She “fought the good fight” and was admired for her strength and tenacity until her last breath. She was considered a hero by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawless Hebert and Dorothy Self; and her sister, Gail Dronet.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Laurie Miller; son, Rodney Miller, of Orange; siblings, Gloria Stearns, of McLewis, Linda Bray, of Orange, Larson Hebert, of Brenham, Susan Skinner and husband Bill, of Fairmount, and Mark Hebert, of Bridge City; and her sister-in-law, Ella Mae Blanchard, of Vinton, LA.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Dronet, Joseph Marjolet, Gavin Scott, Terry Blanchard, and Tony Bray.
