Pete C. Navarro, 82, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on July 19, 2018, in Port Arthur.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2018, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Father Steve Leger. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
Born in Wall, Texas, on August 1, 1935, he was the son of Eligio Navarro and Lelia Cavitt. Pete was a very faithful member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Bridge City, where he took great joy in serving his Lord. He retired from Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) after 32 years. Pete loved spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything. He enjoyed watching wrestling & Westerns, and loved working in his yard. He will be dearly missed by all those who had the pleasure to know and love him.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jonathon Navarro; brothers, Santos Navarro and Joe Navarro; and parents, Eligio and Lelia Navarro.
He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Vann Navarro; children, George Navarro and wife Sandy, and Cynthia Roy and husband Charlie all of Bridge City; grandchildren, Justin Navarro and wife Jillian, Emily Navarro, Lari Rovira and husband Julian, and Raye Ann Massey and husband Deke; and great-grandchildren, Kindell, Kinnedy, and Jonathon Navarro, Abby and Adalyn Hunt, Mia and Lucas Rovira, and Mason, Parker and Karson Massey.
Serving as pallbearers will be Deke Massey, Dustin Tibbitts, Donovan Weldon, Tyler Tibbitts, Justin Navarro, and Julian Rovira. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathon Navarro, Juan Cantu, Ron Muckelrath, Joe Ivy Vann, and Billy Melancon.
