Phyllis Ray Bolles Lawrence, 79, of Orange, died Thursday, December 9, 2010, at her home with her family after a long illness.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Gary Grantham. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Born in Houston, Texas on August 31, 1931, Mrs. Lawrence was the daughter of William Albert and Alma Ruby Fruge Bolles. She grew up in Houston and moved to Port Arthur after marrying her husband. They later moved to Bridge City, where they raised their children, until settling finally in Orangefield.
Mrs. Lawrence was a hairdresser, owning a shop in Bridge City for 4 years before moving her shop to Orangefield, where she continued to work until retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby G. Lawrence; son, Bobby A. Lawrence; and grandson, Bobby W. Lawrence.
Mrs. Lawrence is survived by her sons, Lonney Lee Lawrence of Orange, Billy Ray Lawrence and his wife, Tammy Bagwell Lawrence, also of Orange; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and extended family.
