Pomposa Galavis, 91, of Beaumont, passed away on October 7, 2020, in Orange, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2020 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2020 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas on January 20, 1929, she was the daughter of Torivio Almaguer and Ignacia Abrego Almaguer. Pomposa was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She worked hard as a stay at home mother taking care of her husband and her son. Pomposa did a lot of volunteer work in the cafeteria at her son’s school. She was also her parents and grandparent’s caretaker. Her family meant everything to her, she put their needs above her own. Pomposa was a devoted servant of God. She was a wonderful aunt to many of her nieces and nephews and a loyal friend, loved by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Torivio Almaguer and Ignacia Abrego Almaguer; husband, Louis Galavis; sisters, Petra Garza, Annette Barrientos, and Ruby Lee Light; brothers, Ignacio Almaguer and Eustacio Almaguer.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Galavis and his wife Alexis of Beaumont; nieces, Regina Almaguer of Beaumont and Angela Faulk of Montana; Brothers, Torivio Almaguer of Nacogdoches and Joseph Almaguer of Orange; sisters, Ella Flores of Beaumont and Mary Welch of Orange.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
