Ramon Thomas Tom Murray

Ramon Thomas "Tom" Murray, born in Orange, Texas on October 1, 1952 was called home by his heavenly Father on June 9, 2012.

Tom was preceded in death by his loving parents, Beans and Mickey Murray, and beloved nephew, Michael Thomas Murray. He is survived by his wife, Mary Irene David Murray of Kingwood, Texas, his daughter and her husband, Lisa and Steve Kroger of Spring, Texas, son Kris Murray of Tacoma, Washington, and step-daughters, Rebecca and Kathryn Adams of Ireland. Surviving siblings include Jim and Sheila Murray of San Marcos, Texas, Mike and Gretchen Murray of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Mary Ann Murray of Austin, Texas. He also leaves behind the joys of his life, his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. His grandchildren include: Jonathan and Julia Kroger, Nicholas Campbell, and Lily Cosgrove. Nieces and nephews are: Sean and Shannon Murray, Tim and Kristin Murray, Kelley and Chris Peterson, Bridget and Nathan Miller, Rick Owens and Ann Pinder.

Tom attended school in Orange, Texas and Houma, Louisiana and attended Nichols State University. His career in the oilfield services industry gave him the opportunity to work and live in many locations throughout the world before he joined Drip-Quip in Houston over twenty years ago.

Being with family was Tom's top priority. His grandchildren and nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart. He and Mary Irene hosted numerous family gatherings at their Kingwood home and at their lake home in Hackberry, Louisiana. His other passions included fishing, cooking, reading, playing scrabble, and winning a friendly game of poker.

Visitation will be held at Kingwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary/Vigil at 7:30 p.m. officiated by Deacon Larry David. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.with Reverend Joseph Daleo presiding. Pallbearers will be: Sean Murray, Tim Murray, Rick Owens, Tommy Lyons, Jerry Guidroz, Christopher Benefield, Matthew Benefield, and Brody David.

The family requests that any memorials to honor Tom be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Houston, 6437 High Star Drive, Houston, Texas 77074.
