Randy Lee Simmons, 57, of Mauriceville, passed away on September 26, at his home in Mauriceville.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p. m., Sunday, October 3, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Opening and Closing prayers will be done by Heather Sztaba, Eulogy and Order of Services will be done by Aletha Jackson. Burial to follow at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p. m. to 2:00 p. m. Sunday, October 3, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Dayton, Texas, on December 29, 1963, Randy was the son of Albert Simmons and Gladys Long. Randy was a man of the simple pleasures in life. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends, who always said he had a smile that was out of this world. Randy was an amazing father, son, brother, and friend that would do anything for anyone because he was such a kind and caring person to everyone he met. When Randy wasn’t enjoying his time with his loved ones, he loved being out fishing or hunting with an ice-cold beer in hand. He will be deeply missed by those that cherished his endearing smile and caring nature.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Albert Simmons; grandparents, Lloyd and Ruth Long, Urcel and Billy Stone.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 and a half years, Amy (Howard) Simmons; mother, Gladys Long; son, Randy “Tate” Simmons II of Mauriceville; bonus son, Lain Harvey of Mauriceville; siblings, Albert “Jay” Simmons II and wife Margaret of Starks, Louisiana, Michael “Mike” Simmons of Orange, Sherri Thomason and husband Lloyd of Mauriceville, Samantha Shupe and husband Dave of Monroeville, Ohio, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Curtis Jackson, Gregg Gunter, Tryce Howard, Tim Dixon, Chuck Ledoux, and Mike Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Shupe, J.J. Simmons, Blake Peveto, Lain Harvey, Marion Flowers, as well as family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
