Ray Cloudy, 78 passed away on Monday, December 21, 2009 at John Sealy UTMB in Galveston, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2009 with a Wake at 7 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Mauriceville. Officiating will be Father Delphyn Meeks. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange.
Throughout his life, Ray devoted himself to his family with amazing dedication and love. Ray was born in Nacogdoches, Texas on November 17, 1931 to Dorey and Elizabeth Cloudy. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Ray worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years, Orange County Transportation for 16 years, and several pharmacies in the Orange area. He loved working in his garden, watching Aggie football, and most of all loved his weekends with his girls and only son. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Maurice Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Cloudy, Wesley Cloudy, and Troy Cloudy; Son, Charles Cloudy; Granddaughter, Andi McKenna; and Step-Grandson, William Manchac.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Cloudy of Mauriceville; daughters and sons-in-law, Jenny and Keith Forsyth of Mauriceville, Sissy and John McKenna of Galveston, Melanie and Raymond Parish of Orange, Cindy and Shannon "Shiro" Foreman of Mauriceville and Michelle and Michael Roiz of Sugar Land; Sisters, Liz Russell, Elaine Buster, Doris Chumley, and Annette Cloudy; daughter-in-law, Laura Cloudy; 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cory Rambo, Charlie Cloudy, Damon Bishop, Brian Parish, Matthew Roiz, Johnny.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Wallace, Keith Forsyth, John McKenna, Raymond Parish, Shannon "Shiro" Foreman and Michael Roiz.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Camp Summit at 17210 Campbell Rd., Suite 180-W, Dallas, Texas 75252, or to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at 120 Wall Street, 19th floor, New York, New York, 10005.
