Ray Finley Holt, 79, of Orange died Monday, March 28, 2011, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with Reverend Lynn Ashcraft, officiating. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 ? 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Born in Shelby County Texas on July 17, 1932, Ray was the son of Otha and Nellie Mae Dockins Holt. He loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors, but his main love was spending time with his family and most of all his grandchildren. Ray served in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired operator at DuPont. He was a member of the NRA, a lifetime member of the Orange Boat Club and a 32nd Degree Mason.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otha Holt; sisters, Sandra Baldwin and Linda Reeves; nephew, Shawn Reeves; brother-in-law, Johnny Reeves; and sister,-in-law, Charlotte Holt.
Ray is survived by his wife, ElMarie Holt; mother, Nellie Mae Holt; son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Yvette Holt of Orange; and daughter, Donna King of Lumberton.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Robert Gooding, Hope Hernandez and Anna Lecia Holt; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles and Marion Holt of Beaumont and Carol Holt of Orange; niece, Caron Holt; and nephew, Carey Holt.
