Ray E. "Bobby" Parker, 89, died Monday, December 22, 2008 in Houston.

A funeral service will be Monday, December 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Bailey Harris of Old First Orange Baptist
Church. A private family only interment will follow at Dorman Cemetery.

A visitation will be Sunday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Parker was born on November 18, 1919 in Reddell, LA. He was the son of Clyde D. and Beatrice Winters Parker. He worked as an operator at Gulf Oil. Mr. Parker was a member of the Masonic Lodge 1045 Bridge City, Eastern Star, and First Christian Church Orange. He was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. and served in WW II.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Louisa "Lou" Parker; daughters, Paula C. Garrett, Norma R. Martin and husband, Joe all of Chandler, AZ, Dianne Udstuen of Dallas, and Maureen Star and husband, Steven of Spring, TX.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sister, Helen Huckaby of Dallas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Nelson Udstuen, Blane Vincent, Andrew Martin, Billy Peveto, Dwight Whitman, and Ron Huckaby.

Mr. Parker loved to garden and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a good man with a good heart, a nurturing spirit and had beautiful blue eyes.
