Rayford E. Jimerson, 85, of Orange, died Friday, October 3, 2014, at Magnolia Manor in Groves.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2014, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Harold Nazworth and Reverend Dale Lee. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
Born in Nacogdoches, Texas, on June 10, 1929, Rayford was the son of Carrol M. and Obera (Muckleroy) Jimerson. He served in the US Army in Korea, and worked as a Chief Shift Supervisor at DuPont Sabine River Works in Orange. He attended McDonald Memorial Baptist Church and Cowboy Church of Orange County.
Rayford is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. “Dot” Jimerson of Orange; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Mary Jimerson of Dayton; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Joey Blanda of Orange; grandchildren, Jessica Broussard and husband Jerron of Orange, Jenna Blanda of Orange, K.C. Jimerson and wife Ashley of Cleveland; great-grandson, Brody Jimerson; and nephew, Joe Jimerson and wife Jane of Conroe.
The family wishes to thank Magnolia Manor Nursing Home and River City Hospice for the care they provided to Rayford.
