Raymond Jethro Magee, 82, was born October 3, 1928 in Beaumont to Don and Ella Magee and passed away September 24, 2011 at his home in Rose City, surrounded by his loving family.
Raymond grew up in Rose City and graduated from Vidor High School. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha Jane Magee; daughters, Elizabeth Fore and husband John of China, Martha Gray and husband Terry of Mauriceville; son, Raymond David Magee of Vidor; brother, Paul Durwood Magee and sister-in-law, Melba Faye Steel; grandchildren, Timothy R. Skinner, Steven P. Skinner, P. Joshua Baker, Sean L. Gray, Tara A. Gray, Don C. Gray; great-grandchildren, Lana A. Skinner, Ethan A. Skinner, Laneigh A. Mann, Hunter A. Gray and Bryson L. Gray.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John Abram Magee and James Magee.
Raymond was a member and ordained minister of Sabine Tabernacle under the direction of the late Reverend Harry H. Hodge and the Reverend Herbert H. Hilton. He also co-pastored Rose City Tabernacle with his mother, the late Reverend Ella Magee in his early ministry.
Raymond?s annual nativity scene was his way of keeping Christ in Christmas.
