Raymond Michael “Mike” Blessitt
Raymond Michael “Mike” Blessitt, 77, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on August 12, 2016, in Beaumont, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. Officiating will be Brother James Kinman of Central Baptist Church in Kirbyville.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Boyles, Mississippi, on June 27, 1939, he was the son of Donal Vernon Blessitt and Vera Lucille (Avant) Blessitt. Mike was a member of the United States Army and worked as a senior electrician level 3 supervisor at DuPont Sabine River Works, as well as being a member of the VFW. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, boating, and hunting. Mike also loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Curtis Blessitt, Jerry Blessitt, Roger Blessitt, and Donald Blessitt.
Mike is survived by his children, Kimberly Ann Goslin, of Orange, Tammy Lynn Robins, of Orange, David Michael Blessitt, of Orange, Joy Edan Blessitt, of Lindale, Naomi Lea Perdue, of Groves, and Donna Lea Jones and husband Michael, of Kirbyville; grandchildren, Derek, Dallas, Dillon, Deanna, Lexie, Jessica, Ashton, Addison, Abbigail, Easton, Jaxon, and Triston; great-grandchildren, Kade, Gabrielle, and Zoey; and his siblings, Mary Fisher, Linda Kelly, Odis Blessitt, and Larry Blessitt.
