Raymond “Chad” Phillips passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 50. Born on January 28, 1975, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Chad lived life on his own terms—free-spirited, fiercely independent, and full of creativity.
He was the son of William Phillips and Charlotte Reynolds. A talented carpenter and jack of all trades, Chad had a gift for working with his hands and a passion for building and fixing things. If something was broken, he’d find a way—his way—to make it work again. His creativity, stubbornness, and off-the-wall ideas left a lasting impression on anyone who spent time with him.
Chad wasn’t a conventional man—he valued his freedom, followed his own path, and was unapologetically himself. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in authenticity and individuality.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Teresa Louviere; his children, Alexandrea Phillips, Alexis Allen, and Nicholas Phillips; and his grandchildren: Emily, Sophia, and Levi Eastwood, who lovingly knew him as “PawPaw.” He is also survived by his siblings: Eric Phillips and his wife Stephanie, Jerico Phillips, Kevin Phillips, Rick Reynolds, Daniel Reynolds, Dustin Reynolds and his wife Lauren, his many nieces and nephews, and other loved ones who will remember his unique spirit and the stories that only he could create.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.
