Raymond H. Martin, 89, of Bon Wier, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010, at his home.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2010, at Squire Cemetery in Cleveland, Texas, under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in DeRidder, Louisiana on August 13, 1921, Ray was the son of Levi and Alvertia Cobb Martin. He joined the United States Navy in 1941 and served his country in WWII. He retired from Gulf Oil Refinery after 35 years. He was a member of Bon Wier Baptist Church and loved being with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved being outdoors, whether it be golf, fishing, or hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Martin; and daughter, Connie Atmar.
Ray is survived by his wife, Eunice Martin; daughter, Carmen Purgahn and husband Willard; grandchildren, Matt Purgahn and wife Jodi, Luke Purgahn, Pam Payne and husband Peter, Martin Gerald and wife Alisha, Mark Gerald and wife Patty; and his 14 beloved great-grandchildren.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Matt Purgahn, Luke Purgahn, Martin Gerald, and Mark Gerald.
