Rebecca Lynn Outenreath, 70, of Orange, passed away on December 10, 2019, in Beaumont.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Orange.
Born in Houston, Texas, on November 29, 1949, she was the daughter of Forest Harrell and Margaret (McGuff) Harrell. Rebecca attended LaPorte High School and was very active in theater arts. She went on to attend Stephen F. Austin University where she studied art. She worked as a drafting artist before computers were common place, and spent the majority of her career in accounting and as an office manager. Rebecca was a devoted homemaker for her family throughout her entire life. She was a hardworking and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Rebecca was very generous of her time and would help anyone in need. She was talented at artistic tasks such as cross-stitching, needle work, puzzles, and wrapping gifts. She adored animals and enjoyed decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Margaret Harrell.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Ray Outenreath of 49 years; children, Margaret “Betsy” Outenreath Merritt and husband Travis of Iowa, Louisiana and Mary Katherine “Katie” Outenreath and partner Gerry Proctor of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Hayden, Jackson and Kaitlyn Lester; brother, Forest Harrell and wife Peg; brother-in-law, Robert Outenreath and wife Nancy; and nephew, Jason Outenreath; numerous cousins, family and friends.
Cremation is under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.
