Rena Marie Richardson, 89, of Orange, Texas, passed away on November 27, 2020, in Orange.
A rosary will be held 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 29, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, with a funeral service to follow. Officiating will Deacon Melvin Payne. Burial will be held Monday, November 30, at Cormier Cemetery, in Vinton, Louisiana, at 2:00 p.m.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orangefield, Texas, on February 26, 1931, she was the daughter of Cleodise Broussard and Edith (Gallet) Broussard. Rena was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Her faith was of utmost importance to her as it built the foundation of her life. On May 6, 1950, Rena married her love, Ralph Richardson and they shared 67 amazing years of marriage together. She enjoyed visiting with friends, quilting, baking, and cooking for her family. Rena loved meeting new people at all of Ralph’s jam sessions and the wives of the musicians became the closest and lifelong friends of theirs. Rena adored her family most of all and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleodise and Edith Broussard; loving husband, Ralph Richardson; daughter, Alana Leleux; siblings; Annie Hendrix, Velma Wilfer, Jessie Falk, Chester, Raywood, Harvey, and Lloyd Broussard.
She is survived by her children, Arlene Spurlock and husband Donald of Orange, Randall Richardson and wife Brenda of Katy, and Linda Richardson of Orange; grandchildren, Lori, Kristie, Tracey, Alana, Tiffany, Rachel, Brittani, Cortney, William, and Alicia; 14 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
