Richard Bigelow, 84, of Bridge City, Texas passed away on February 7, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, TX. The Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, TX.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 12, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Richard was the son of Fred Bigelow and Rowena (Reynolds) Bigelow. To many of his friends he was just know as “Bigelow”. Richard was an accomplished machinist, who owned his own business. He had a true love for taking the impossible and making it possible for his customers. With a scratch pad and pencil he could design a piece of equipment that would later be used to fight fires with hazmat foam from a distance never before accomplished. He was a designer, inventor and engineer at heart. Richard was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was always his daughter’s best friend. Richard will be missed by all those who knew him and loved him.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Fred Bigelow, mother, Rowena Bigelow and daughter, Cindy George.
He is survived by his daughter Sandy Bellamy and her husband Thomas of Allen, Texas; sisters Linda Holmes and husband Hondo of Grove City, Ohio; Irma Everson of Barberton, Ohio; brother, James Bigelow of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; granddaughters, Savannah and Madison Bellamy, grandsons Brian and Adam George.
