Richard Niles Moore, 78, of Orangefield, Texas died Friday, April 30, 2010, at Baptist Hospital in Orange.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Jim Hardwick of First Christian Church in Orangefield. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
Born in Inez, Texas on January 6, 1932, Richard was the son of Alice Stoffer and Raymond Niles Moore. He served in the United States Navy in Korea and worked as a carpenter. He loved Orangefield High School sports and served 2 terms on the Orangefield School Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Raymond; brother, John Moore; and brother-in-law, Johnny Cornell.
Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jo Ann Moore; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Joe and Naomi Moore of Orangefield; daughters and son-in-laws, Rhonda and Mickey Doyle, and Lorrie and Mark LeBlanc, all of Orangefield; daughter, Terri Moore of Orangefield; and grandchildren, Shawn Daigle, Josh LeBlanc, and Kacey LeBlanc.
He is also survived by his brothers and sister-in-laws, Henry and Reba Moore of Garrison, Bobby and Myrtice Moore of Bridge City; sister, Mary Cornell of Bridge City; sister-in-law Becky Breaux and husband Mike; and life long friends, Ronnie and Jennie Hutchison.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hutchison, Mike Cornell, Mark Stevens, Kody Breaux, Charlie Stevens, Josh LeBlanc, Shawn Daigle, and Mark Stevens, Jr..
