Richard Glenn Doggett

Richard Glenn Doggett, 64, of Orange, Texas died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. Officiating will be Gerald Bluhm, Barry Jones, and Ed Green.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas on November 1, 1945, Richard was the son of Sylvia and E.C. Doggett. He attended Tilley Elementary, Carr Junior High, and graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1966. He was a custodian at Lutcher Stark and West Orange-Stark High Schools for over 40 years.

Richard was an avid supporter of the WO-S High School, especially all of the WO-S sports programs, specifically the Mustang Football teams. Over his lifespan, Richard attended numerous sporting events from Houston to Chicago and from San Antonio to New Orleans, and all of the Mustang championship games. His passion was to tell you of these events.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dale June Neil.

Richard is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Fara Doggett of Orange; nieces, Johnna Brinkley and Tonya Gibbons; four great-nieces; and one great-nephew.

Serving as Pallbearers will be James Berry, Mack Dunkin, Hosie Boston, Greg Willis, Delferd Douget, Butch Bourgeois, Johnny Roy Bergeron, and Wayne Baker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrew Hayes, Allen P'Poole, Dan Ray Hooks, Cornel Thompson, and Mitch Bertrand.
