Rita Mae Martin
Rita Mae Martin, 68, of Vinton, Louisiana, passed away on February 28, 2017, in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 3, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Rob Tibbitts, of Crossroads Baptist Church in Vinton. Burial will follow at Nibletts Bluff Cemetery in Vinton, LA.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Pitkin, Louisiana, on August 21, 1948, she was the daughter of Edward and Ethel Martin. She was a long time member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Vinton. It is here where she grew in her faith and instilled this faith in her family. Rita was very supportive and devoted to her children, grandchildren, and their friends, being their biggest fan and cheerleader for all of their school activities and sporting events. She was scout leader, den mother, and coach for various sports. She retired from a fulfilling career working with individuals with special needs, after which she continued to do so on a voluntary basis. She was a mentor to her community and known as “Maw Maw” to everyone. Rita was always positive and had a smile on her face. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rita is survived by her children, Kurt Kuluris, of Vinton, Krystal Herline and husband Raymond, Jr., of Vinton, and Kimberly Doyle and husband Thurman, of Fred; grandchildren, James Kuluris, Alex Kuluris, Matthew Kuluris, Tyler Kuluris, Victoria Herline, Maycie Allen, Jordan Doyle, Courtney Doyle, Chelsie Doyle, and Dalton Doyle; great-grandchildren, Hadley Rae Bailey, Harper Lynn Bailey, and Braxtn Lane Thompson; and her siblings, Bill Martin and wife Peggy, of Colorado, Eddie Martin and wife Cheryl, of Vinton, Barbara Sadler and husband Mike, of Orangefield, Paul Martin and wife Martha, of Orange, and David “Joe” Martin and wife Nikki, of Iowa, LA.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Stinson, Kevin Merchant, Pat Hansen, Randy Smith, Kelly Bickham, Ronny Sadler, Jordan Doyle, and Dalton Doyle.

This breaks my heart. Miss Rita was such a sweet lady. Always had a smile when I saw her. My best memories of her is from my teenage years in church. Having bonfires & hayrides at her house for Halloween. She was loved by so many & will never be forgotten.
