Robert Baca, Jr.
Born in Orange, Texas, on June 22, 1966, Robert was the son of Robert and Marcelina Baca. Robert lived a life marked by dedication to his family and a passionate pursuit of personal excellence. Robert enjoyed a fulfilling career at Motiva, where his character forged deep friendships and relationships with his colleagues.
He was a graduate of West Orange Stark High School, where he played all the sports, including rodeo. His commitment to continue growing carry him through his college years at Stephen F. Austin University and later for a second degree at LIT where he laid the foundation for a life that would be rich in experiences. He served as president of the Orange Lion's Club in 1998 and was a past Master Mason of the Madison Lodge #126. His contributions to these organizations reflected his desire to give back and support those around him. At Common Ground Church in Bridge City, he nurtured his spiritual life and built beautiful and deep friendships. Robert was an outdoor enthusiast, he loved scuba diving, dirt bike riding and belaying for his sons rock climbing. His passion for the outdoors and travel manifested in encouraging his sons Diego and Santiago to train for Spartan races, become certified scuba divers as he was, knife forging and rock climbing among others. This dedication to share experiences was a testament to his character; he wanted his children involved in positive experiences that would nurture their own passions while creating cherished memories together. He will be remembered not only for his unwavering humility and selflessness but also for his ability to do things just right and neat. His legacy is one of integrity, and hard work well done and the commitment to his family fostering a life filled with exploration and adventure. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Baca Sr.,
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Elizabeth, his children, Diego and Santiago his mother Marce, siblings, Carmen Duhon and husband Darrel, Virginia Johnson and husband Jim, niece Ashley Tarver and husband Cody and nephews Justin Duhon and wife Michelle and Shea Johnson and wife Emily.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Bud Davis. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday September 13, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Serving as pallbearers will be Diego Baca, Santiago Baca, Justin Duhon, Chris Juneau, Jim Whittington, Shea Johnson, and Daniel Valdes.
