Robert Louis Burton, Jr., 84, of Orange, Texas, passed away on August 18, 2023, peacefully at home.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 25, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jeff Bell.

Visitation will begin prior to the service at 9:30 a.m., Friday, August 25, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on July 13, 1939, he was the son of Robert L. Burton Sr. and Ora (Bearden) Burton. Robert was a member of First Presbyterian Church for many years. He was also a devoted member of Beaumont Young Men’s Business League and very active in the rodeos they held. Robert loved horses and would often ride in trial rides. He loved to train and raise horses as well as teach children how to ride. Robert was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Robert Burton, Sr.; and sister.

He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Paula Burton; son, Robert W. Burton; stepchildren, Kevin Spence Hicks and Renee Elizabeth Hicks; grandsons, Jonathan Burton and Bryan Burton; step-granddaughter, Kyra Hicks; as well as other loving family and friends.
