Robert "Bob" Myron Cady

Robert “Bob” Myron Cady, 89, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 4, 2018 in Conroe, Texas.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Keith Tilley of Faith United Methodist Church, assisted by Reverend Randy Branch of Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on March 31, 1929, he was the son of Reverend Francis Cephas Cady Sr., and Alice Augusta Price Cady. He attended Lon Morris College and graduated from Stephen F. Austin, where he majored in Sociology and minored in Music. Bob loved music and was always singing. He instilled honesty and integrity in his children, with faith playing a big role in his life. Bob was an incredibly hard worker, amazing encourager, a super dad, and above all else, a great husband, with love for his wife, Bettie, that will last forever. He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. Bob supported his children in any endeavor they chose, down whatever avenue it took them. He enjoyed fishing and giving those closest to him nicknames.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Francis Cephas and Alice Cady; brother, Reverend Francis “Frank” Cady, Jr.; sister, Alice Ruth Webb.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Bettie Cady; children, Coyolyn Hammett of Orange, Denise Bockoven and husband Neil of Spring, and Paul Cady of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren, Angela Parsons and husband Brad, Tonia Ellis, Aston Aune and husband Tyler, and Amy Martin and husband Kyle; great-grandchildren, Kirsten Girlinghouse, Ty Ellis, Trent Norman, Breanna Norman, Olivia Aune, Samuel Aune, Kristen Martin, Eva Martin, Lilly Martin; and great-great-grandchild, Nyxcelia Mathews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Neil Bockoven, Kyle Martin, Ty Ellis, Tyler Aune, Dennis John Hankins, Russell Clay, and Brad Parsons. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be John Everett and Clinton Smith.

So many fun and fond memories. Fishing at the spillway and singing along around the piano as Bob played are some of my favorite memories of this gentle and loving man. He will be missed.
