Robert “Bob” Frederick Cooper, 76, of West Orange, Texas, passed away on December 9, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at First Church of the Nazarene in Orange under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home. Officiating will be Brad McKenzie. A graveside service will be held following the service at 2:30 p.m., at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the church.
Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on July 26, 1943, he was the son of Elvin Cooper and Thelma Cooper. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marin Corps. He was a very hard worker who went on to spend 14 years working for Levingston Shipbuilding, 4 years with OPI Offshore Pipeline Inc. and 4 years with TDI Texas Drydock. Bob was a dedicated member of First Church of the Nazarene and loved his church dearly. He enjoyed spending time fishing and was an avid fan of the West Orange-Stark Mustangs. He will be dearly missed and his memory will live on in those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Thelma Cooper; and his siblings, Edward Cooper, Ethel Dick, Joyce Parks, Harold Cooper, Roy Cooper, Charles Cooper, Alton “Coop” Cooper, Wayne Cooper, and Juan Ray Cooper.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara Cooper; children, Dianne Cooper, of Orange and Charles “Chuck” Cooper and wife Maria, of Galveston; grandchildren, Kevin Cooper, Chris Rhodes, Brandi Cooper, Madison Cooper, Mason Cooper, Amber Cooper, and Sofia Cooper; great-grandchildren, Paris Cooper, Camryn Cooper, Peyton Cooper, Bradley Cooper, Carsyn Cooper, and Paisley Cooper; and his sister, Barbara Lewis, of Grand Lake, LA; along with numerous other loving family and friends.
