Robert Ener, 59, of Beaumont, passed away on May 28, 2017, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Funeral services will be 1:00p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Westgate Memorial Baptist Church in Beaumont. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00p.m., Friday, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on November 13, 1957, he was the son of Bobby and Margaret (Leggett) Ener. Born and raised in Beaumont Robert was a 1976 Cum Laude graduate of Forest Park High School. While in college he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He went on to work for the Beaumont Police Department in the patrol division, later transferring to drug interdiction. He then was promoted to Detective and was a computer forensic expert, retiring in May 2017. Robert was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was also a member of the Wiergate hunting and fishing club. He loved to go hunting and fishing. Robert especially loved every moment he got to spend with his seven grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ener.
Robert is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Ener of Beaumont; mother, Margaret Ener of Hemphill; his daughters, Megan Warrick and husband, Gary of Sour Lake and Kelly Martinez and husband, David of Colfax, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Robert Warrick, Lyric Warrick, BreeOnna Camp, Gary Warrick III, Miah Bodine, Tala Warrick and Jaden Truong; brother, Stephen Ener and wife, Julia of Cypress; sisters, Diane Goetschius and husband, Jack of Beaumont, Sherri Wright and husband, Bruce of Liberty, and Dawn Graff and husband, Billy of Beaumont, and 11 nieces and nephews, and their spouses.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Creason, Kenny Spitzer, Tim Mitchell, Reed Able, Ricky Anderson, Jerry Jackson, John Courts, Jeff Curl, Joshua Graff, Jacob Graff, Jonathan Graff, Joel Wright, and Adam Ener.
