Robert “Toby” Earl Goodman, Jr.
Robert “Toby” Earl Goodman, Jr., 77, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on May 16, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Randy Branch, of Wesley United Methodist Church in Orange, Texas.
A memorial gathering will be prior to the service beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on June 24, 1939, Toby was the son of Robert Earl Goodman, Sr. and Zada Inez (Gripon) Goodman. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, and retired as a lab tech from DuPont. Toby made and sold knives and enjoyed photography, spending time fishing, and hunting. When Toby was young, he participated as a Boy Scout and a DeMolay. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Zada Goodman; son, Robert Louis Daniel Goodman, Sr.; and his granddaughter, Courtney Marie Goodman.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 53 years, Evelyn Goodman; daughter, Heather Finley and husband James, of Bridge City; grandchildren, Keelin Finley, Miranda Goodman, Chelsea Goodman, and Robert Louis Daniel Goodman, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Ryan Goodman, Daniel Goodman, and Emma Martin; and his sister, Anita “Rusty” Mae Green, of Orange.
