Robert “Rocky” Greer, 69, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Born in Henderson, Texas on December 1, 1951, Rocky was a son of Gus S. Greer and Inez (York) Greer. A C.P.A., he had a long career in finance. He also was assistant professor at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches and taught at Cathedral Christian High School in Beaumont.
Rocky was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and loved to go hunting. He was a Scoutmaster with the Boy scouts and a Sunday school teacher. He loved his family and was very family oriented.
Rocky was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Greer; son, Konrad Sim Greer and his siblings, Tommy Greer, Glenda Greer Jones, Wade Greer and Martha Greer.
He is survived by his son, Brad Greer and his wife, Cindy and their two children, Konrad and Kennedy; son, Robert Travis Greer; sister, Deanna Milton Greer; sister-in-law, Carol Greer; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. A graveside service will immediately follow the gathering at Claybar Haven of Rest Cemetery in Beaumont. There will be an escorted procession from the funeral home to the cemetery and friends wishing to join are asked to be at the funeral home by 2:00 p.m. Friday.
