Funeral services for Robert Lewis Adams, 81, of Jasper will be held Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper.
Robert was born December 11, 1927 in Corpus Christi, TX to Horace and Lillian Adams and passed away on November 26, 2009 in Beaumont, TX. He will be remembered by many as an owner of Adams Supply. He served his country during WWII in the Navy and was a deacon at Hillcrest Baptist Church for over 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Adams, his sister Elaine Englehart, and his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Adams; his children, Janice Adams Lyle of Beaumont, Robert Adams, II and wife, Joyce Ann, of Lufkin, Judy Adams Sawyer and husband, Shelton, of Marietta, GA, and Frances Adams Rowe and husband, Thomas, of Beaumont; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brothers Max Adams and wife, Elaine and Ronnie Adams and wife Sherry, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Dorothy's children, Rhonda Hollingsworth and husband Benny, Bridgett Brotzman and husband, Tim; Randy Mitchael and wife, Sheila; twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
