Robert “Bob” B. McKay, Jr., 71, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on July 29, 2019, in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Born in Orange, Texas, on July 6, 1948, he was the son of Robert Benard McKay, Sr. and Dorothy (Flanagan) McKay. Bob worked as an auto mechanic for KBR at DuPont for many years before retiring. He also taught auto mechanics at Lamar State College. Bob was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Orange Gun Club. He was a simple man who loved being outdoors. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, refinishing guns, and reloading ammo. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy McKay; and his son, Duncan McKay.
He is survived by his loving wife Alice McKay of Vidor; his children, Robert B. McKay III and wife Andrea of Orange, Robin Garcia and husband Patrick of Orange, Chris Perkins and wife Amy of Vidor, and Jennifer Perkins of Vidor; his grandchildren, Reanna McKay, Robert McKay IV, Jordan Garcia, Breanna Perkins, Caleb Perkins, Austyn Gaudet, Lauryn Self, Kyler Self, Taylor Lee, and Lauren Lee; his great-grandchildren, Jaxon Orona and Kamden Alvis; and his siblings, Harry McKay and wife Romaine of Houston, and Patricia McKay of Missouri.
