Robert Van Noland, 70, of Beaumont, passed away on April 11, 2017, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Friday, April 14, 2017, at Sabine Tabernacle in Beaumont. Officiating will be Reverend James Boykin of Sabine Tabernacle. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest in Beaumont.
Visitation will be from 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Born in DeRidder, Louisiana, on February 26, 1947, he was the son of Pierce Andrew Noland and Mildred Pauline (McCullough) Noland. Robert graduated from French High School 1966. After graduation he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in the 818th Engineer Battalion. During his service he served in the Vietnam War and received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. After his service to our country he went to work for Texaco in 1972 as an Operator, retiring in 2006. Robert has been a member of Sabine Tabernacle since 1959. He enjoyed deer hunting, trout fishing, traveling and was a gentle giant. One of his favorite roles in life was being a grandfather. Robert will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Laura Kate Noland.
Robert is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debra Noland; children, Pattie Byerly and husband, Tom of Protem, Missouri, Carla Merril and husband, Nathan of Keller, Texas and Robert Van Noland, Jr. and wife, Jana of China, Texas; seven grandchildren; and his siblings, Barbara Senters, Jerry Noland, Chuck Noland, Beverly Robbins, and Mike Noland.
