Robert Thomas "Bob" Keeling, 87, of Orange died on November 27, 2008. Funeral services will be on Sunday, November 30, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home's temporary location in Orange at 1408 W. Park Ave. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 1, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Shiloh Cemetery in Mount Enterprise, TX.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Mr. Keeling was born on August 23, 1921 to George B. Keeling and Allie Mae Katenhead Keeling in Mount Enterprise, TX. He served in the US Army from 1941 through 1945 and he attended Stephen F. Austin University and the University of Texas studying civil engineering and retired from Dupont Sabine River Works as a supervisor and construction liaison after 38 years. He was a member of long standing in the McDonald Baptist Church and active in the Lions club during the 60's and 70's.
Bob was the ultimate people person. He genuinely enjoyed talking to people and always had a ready smile and firm handshake. Everyone that really knew him loved him.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Maghe Keeling; son, Ronnie Keeling; sisters, Kitty Claire Tipps and Janelle Pryor and brother, Weldon Keeling. He is survived by his beloved friend and companion, Evelyn Hughes; his children; Bob Keeling and Mary Lou of Little Cypress, Gloria Boiter and William of Vinton, LA, and Lisa McClellan and Jim of Rockwall, TX; his grandchildren; Tommy Malone and Natalie, Schantel Viator and Matt, Tammy Ash, Stacy Benoit, Megan McClellan, Jason Keeling and fiancée, Robin, and nine great grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, George Keeling and sisters, Cletis Bailey and Mary Dean Parrot.
Pallbearers will be Justin Malone, Tommy Malone, Drew Malone, Jason Keeling, Jim McClellan and Megan McClellan.
