Robert Scott Welton, 59, of Orange, Texas, passed away on July 31, 2025, in Orange.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Father Sinclair Oubre. Cremation to follow.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 4, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Laurence Harbor, New Jersey, on June 11, 1966, he was the son of James Welton and Ruth DeHotel Welton. Robert devoted his career to serving others as an Insurance Salesman for Farmers. His commitment to his work was evident in the relationships he built with clients and colleagues alike. Robert’s dedication extended beyond his professional life; he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. This experience instilled in him a sense of discipline and commitment that resonated throughout his life. A valued member of the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Robert found joy and companionship among his community. He formed lasting friendships through the ACTS retreat, where he shared moments of reflection and fellowship, drawing closer to his faith and those around him. In his leisure time, Robert was an avid fan of science fiction and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, spending many hours immersed in the worlds of his favorite stories. His enthusiasm for the genre included a particular fondness for "The Mandalorian," reflecting his vibrant imagination and love of adventure. His legacy will continue through the memories cherished by those fortunate enough to have known him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Welton; and his brother, Michael Welton.
He is survived by his son, Scott Welton; and his brother, Barry Welton.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
