Born in San Augustine, Texas, on January 23, 1944, he was the son of Albert A. Holsomback and Linnie Flournoy Holsomback. Roger lived a life characterized by devotion to family, deep-rooted values, and a love for the great outdoors. As an extraordinary husband, father, and beloved Paw-Paw, Roger's legacy is deeply intertwined with his pride for his family. His commitment to their happiness and well-being was evident in every aspect of his life. Roger had a passion for the outdoors; in his younger years, he thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing, activities that not only brought him joy but also created lasting memories with his loved ones. Roger dedicated many years of his professional life to the oilfield, shipyard, and rubber manufacturing industry, where he made a significant impact. Beyond his work, he cherished time spent at home with his family, never missing his grandchildren's sporting events. He took immense joy in these moments, which highlighted his unwavering support and affection for them. A true food enthusiast, Roger loved to cook, share, and eat meals with family and friends, often gathered around the table sharing stories, love, and laughter. He was not only a devoted family man but also shared in his wife’s dedication to the community. Alongside his wife, Juliette, Roger was instrumental by assisting his wife in the establishment of The Senior Citizen Supper for the Mauriceville community, fostering connections among neighbors and friends. Roger was a member of the Mauriceville Church of Christ, where his faith guided and inspired him. His strong moral compass and kindness will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lennie Holsomback; his loving wife, Juliette Holsomback; and his sisters, Molene Marse, and Verna Clark.
